Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — your name, email address, and optionally a profile photo, phone number, and bio that you provide when you sign up or edit your profile. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google.
• Listing and booking information — details you submit about gear you list or rent, including photos, descriptions, pricing, availability, dates, and pickup/delivery preferences.
• Messages — the content of messages you exchange with other users through in-app messaging.
• Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number; Stripe handles that directly. We may receive limited transaction details (such as amounts, payout status, and identifiers) from Stripe.
• Usage data — basic technical and usage information, such as pages viewed, actions taken, device and browser type, and similar data generated as you use the Platform.

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform.
• Create and manage your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
• Facilitate bookings, payments, payouts, and communication between Hosts and Renters.
• Send transactional emails — such as booking confirmations, listing notifications, and new-message alerts.
• Protect the Platform and our users against fraud, abuse, and security risks, and comply with legal obligations.

We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to run the Platform. We share only the information needed for each to perform its function:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage (account data, listings, bookings, messages, and uploaded photos).
• Stripe — processes payments and Host payouts and handles payment and identity verification.
• Resend — delivers transactional emails on our behalf.
• Google — provides optional sign-in (Google OAuth) if you choose to use it.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SwingShare or our users.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You can review and update your account information from your profile settings at any time. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. You can also manage email preferences using the unsubscribe link in our emails (transactional messages relating to active bookings may still be sent).

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — and rely on providers like Supabase and Stripe — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
